Terms and conditions
Bookings at L’Escondida guesthouse
This English translation is provided for information purposes only. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version shall prevail.
Article 1 – Purpose
These terms and conditions govern room bookings made with L’Escondida guesthouse, whether the booking is made on the villa-escondida.com website, by phone or by email. Any booking implies unreserved acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Article 2 – Operator
L’Escondida guesthouse is operated by MBCM, an SAS (French simplified joint-stock company) with share capital of €10,000, whose registered office is at 24 Chemin de Candeu, 06200 Nice, France, registered under SIRET number 889 105 714 00014.

Article 3 – Booking
Online bookings are made from the website’s Booking page: the guest chooses a room and dates, enters their contact details and then pays the deposit provided for in Article 5 or, if they wish, the full cost of the stay. The booking request becomes firm and final once L’Escondida confirms it by email, after checking availability. If it cannot be confirmed, all sums paid are refunded in full.
Bookings made by phone or email become firm under the same conditions, once the deposit has been paid and L’Escondida has confirmed the booking.
Article 4 – Prices
Prices are shown in euros, including all taxes, per night and per room for two guests, excluding breakfast. Breakfast is available as an extra at €19 per person. Prices may vary according to the season and the length of stay; the applicable price is the one displayed at the time of booking.
The tourist tax is not included in the price. It is collected on behalf of the municipality and amounts to €0.80 per adult per night.
Article 5 – Payment terms
- Deposit: a deposit of 30% of the total cost of the stay is required and charged at the time of booking, by card or PayPal.
- Full payment: guests may also choose to pay the full cost of the stay at the time of booking, by card or PayPal.
- Balance: any remaining balance, together with the tourist tax and any additional services (bar, snacks, etc.), is paid on site on departure, by card or in cash.
Article 6 – Cancellation and changes by the guest
The 30% deposit paid at the time of booking is non-refundable in the event of cancellation or changes to the stay, whatever the reason and the date of cancellation.
If the guest has paid the full cost of the stay, only 30% of the total amount is retained; the rest is refunded.
Any cancellation or request for changes must be sent by email. If the guest fails to arrive on the day of arrival without prior notice, the booking is considered cancelled and the deposit is retained by the establishment. A shortened stay does not give rise to any refund.
We recommend that guests take out cancellation insurance with the provider of their choice.
Article 7 – Cancellation by the establishment
Should L’Escondida have to cancel a booking, except in cases of force majeure, the guest would be refunded in full for all sums paid.
Article 8 – No right of withdrawal
In accordance with Article L.221-28 12° of the Code de la consommation (French Consumer Code), the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation services provided on a specific date or for a specific period. Bookings are therefore governed by the cancellation terms set out in Article 6.
Article 9 – Check-in and check-out
- Check-in: 3pm to 8pm. If you expect to arrive outside these hours, please let us know in advance.
- Check-out: 8am to 11am.
Article 10 – House rules
- The property is entirely non-smoking.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Hen and stag parties and similar events are not permitted, unless the event is organised with the establishment.
- The number of occupants may not exceed the capacity of the room booked.
- Guests are responsible for any damage they may cause during their stay; such damage may be charged to them.
Article 11 – Personal data
Data collected at the time of booking is processed in accordance with our privacy policy.
Article 12 – Complaints and mediation
Any complaint about a stay may be sent by email to escondida.nice@gmail.com or by post to MBCM, 24 Chemin de Candeu, 06200 Nice, France.
